(here lies the briefest rough draft description before i retool it, all subject to change.)
geo • catalyst • Mondstadt • constellation: Angelus Custos • instructor and researcher to the Knights of Favonius
Benedict received his Geo Vision at age twelve, during the violent loss of his parents when a ley line outcrop became unstable with Abyssal corruption. the boy cried out and an entity that traveled through the roots was roused, summoned to help him, crystallizing in attempt to protect Ben — where a Vision was produced. wielding a catalyst of holy and sacred commands against evil spirits, he serves in Mondstadt to provide protections for the citizens and travelers that are under more abstract ailments of the mind, heart, and spirit under the banner of the Knights of Favonius. using the crystalizing Geo element and a perplexing vision of an otherworldly being that appears at his will, Benedict channels pure light to ward or banish ill omens, malevolence both spiritual and material, and curses. he observes philosophies and disciplines from all over Teyvat (or, all up until Inazuma shuttered her doors and windows) but has a particular interest (read: concern) involving the long-since-past 'excellence of humanity,' Khaenri'ah. given the prevalence of abyss mages, hilichurls, and all such related creatures in Teyvat, he longs to study the longaway disaster and the further affects of the abyss and ley line disorders.

he once assisted a young, Pyro Visioned adventurer from Mondstadt for one diligent and endless fortnight with claims that the boy carried 'the worst luck in the world.' after many failed exercises and one particularly disastrous event leaving Benedict with a fractured bone, he regretfully (but not too regretfully) ruled that the adoptive child to the Adventurer's Guild was the only case he could, to such date, not liberate from his bad fortune.

(it was his personal assessment that the boy could not be helped by the exercise of wards and exorcisms, but likely...something far beyond his element.)

Jᴏᴊᴏ's Bɪᴢᴀʀʀᴇ Aᴅᴠᴇɴᴛᴜʀᴇ AU

one of the last Stand arrows on Earth was stolen by a corrupt priest at the Vatican, believing this arrow would bring unto them the next savior on Earth. without the knowledge and finesse to wield it, he and six others pierced themselves, believing one of them would be the righteous gifted by God, only to have their sinister souls converted into Stands representing their great vices. the Stand arrow disappeared mysteriously, as if in shame for what it had been used to do, made to create across seven despicable individuals who still believe in their deluded entitlement.

over the course of one year, the Arrow appeared in strange places, all over the world, drawn by the souls of true virtue, righteousness, good — summoned by their opposite natures. seven unsuspecting people called on for their strength to carry the Stand abilities the arrow sought to grant.

seven archdemons, seven archangels.

Benedict carries the Archangel Michael — [ destined song title will go here ] — a Stand with the power to manipulate and control light as electromagnetic energy. the number of archstands is dwindling slowly, angels quicker than demons. Benedict has to keep the identity of his Stand secret to preserve his life, while working to track down the remaining archdemons before they can trace the Arrow back to its hidden resting place, but there is a rumor that they have found another possible provision for bringing about the end of days.

they say there are more Stone Masks there in Italy... supposedly destroyed in the fallout of World War II, but of course, knowing their luck...

Benedict Dearborn was raised as a muggle, by a family whose magic heritage had long since been scratched out of memory — his father's side, specifically. yet despite the hard conversion to Christianity and muggle living, magic still flowed in the veins of Dearborn, making their line of religious practitioners well adept at facing malicious forces in any setting.

up until the night that Michael Dearborn turned on his family, and then himself, under the influence of something other; many cultures call it 'demonic,' but not exactly all.

Tobias Dearborn had met a few witches and wizards in his time, unafraid of their connection to the otherworldly, but it was through Ben that the knowledge of their heritage was rediscovered. when his uncle spotted the acceptance letter on Ben's desk up in his bedroom, the boy replied in earnest, 'Peter brought it in.'

the resurfaced knowledge was enough of a bombshell for one decimated family to take, without factoring in the slow-mending of their hearts. Ben couldn't be sent away to an impossible school two years late, shattered and grappling for functionality.

'I'll teach you everything I know...and more. We'll learn it all together.' Tobias was always a man of his word.

while Ben may have not had the privilege to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he did spend his formative and adult years learning everything that he could where ever he could; Ilvermorny in North America was surprisingly open to letting him assist in field work, given the vouches through his personal contacts, an ever-growing network of witches, wizards, priests, doctors, whatever it was they chose to go by. all the while, Ben secured his doctorate in world religious studies, but undecided where he wanted to take that concentration of study.

eventually, it was enough to garner just enough intrigue deeper in the roots of his home soil.

having spent some years performing banishings, wards, and what most garishly call exorcisms, Ben Dearborn was approached for the newest open position at Hogwarts: Defence Against the Dark Arts. well, it certainly was within his realm of expertise, years of study done independently and in the very field itself, accumulating as much knowledge of the wizarding culture as others. he had studied this for years, and worked under their practitioners and teachers in America.

Ben might have a little bit of a reputation...not that he's entirely aware of many of the rumors threaded after him. well, except for one, and he still prickles a little when a student flings the phrase 'exorcist' questioningly at him. he might never become used to that one.
